Which Facebook Groups Are Best For Parents In Japan?

How To Find English Speaking Parenting Communities in Japan

I have used these Facebook groups and found a wealth of helpful information about raising children in Japan. With a mix of parents from a range of backgrounds, varying Japanese levels, children of different ages and experience navigating the Japanese school system they are the only reason I still have an active Facebook account.

I would caution that often people turn to these Facebook support groups for parents in Japan when they are having an issue. At first glance they can seem like long lists of problems that people are having. People don't tend to post when life in Japan is going well, keep that in mind when joining them.

Most of the groups have questions that you need to answer before being able to enter them and are run by volunteer admins, so please be patient if you are waiting to get accepted. "Mom group" doesn't always necessarily mean only Moms are allowed, Dads and other guardians are usually welcome. Just check with the group before joining.
