My favourite thing about the Little SPOT mini plushies is that they have the name of the emotion they represent on the back of the plushie. They are brightly coloured and fit nicely in the hand of young children.
How many Little SPOT Plushies are there?
There are 19 Little SPOT minis in total. Sadly, they are not all widley available outside of the US.
What size are the Little SPOT minis?
They are 7.5cm (3") wide and 5 cm(2") tall.
What emotions are written on the Little SPOT mini plushies?
The following emotions are written in uppercase letters on the back of the Little SPOT Plushies.
1. anger (solid red, frowning)
2. happiness (solid yellow, big smile)
3. confidence (solid orange)
4. anxiety (solid grey)
5. love (solid pink)
6. peaceful (solid green)
7. sadness (solid blue, tears in one eye)
8. scribble (white background with scribbly lines in various colours)
9. calm (grey pink mix, closed eyes, white stars)
10. frustration (red, lighting strikes, narrowed eyes)
11. empathy (blended pink, purple, green, yellow, blue)
12. boredom (blue, eyes almost closed)
13. flexible thinking (yellow with a palm tree)
14. belonging (swirling brown, orange white, big smile with teeth)
15. worry (two shades of grey)
16. feelings (rainbow) represents the tangled/scribble spot
17. learning (solid purple)
18. creativity (yellow with paint pallet)

There are two main sets of the Little SPOT plushies available, you might be wondering
which Little SPOT mini plushies should I buy?
Anger, happiness, confidence, anxiety, love, peaceful, sadness and scribble. These 8 Little SPOTs come in a set with the emotion detective book, these solid colour minis also match all the emotions in the first 8 book box set A Little SPOT of Emotions. They can be brought individually (designed to replace missing or lost minis from previously bought sets) on the Diane Alber website.
These 8 original mini plushies are also availble in the Emotion Detective set (only available on the Diane Alber US or Odin books CA) I like this set because it makes tidying up and storage easy, it comes with a large emotion detective that has a zip and all of the mini plushies fit inside.
Calm, frustration, empathy, boredom, flexible thinking, belonging, worry, feelings and learning. These 9 little SPOTs come in a set with the A Little SPOT of Feeling Activity book. They are patterned (learning SPOT is solid purple). They match all of the emotions in the fourth 8 book box set A Little SPOT of Feelings.
The good thing about both of these sets is that they are availble on Amazon. The other big plushies, puppets and cushions are only available through the Diane Alber website which does not offer international delivery (except to canada which also incurs up to a 30% levy in duies and brokerage in addition to postage)
Which Little SPOT mini plushies are the rarest?
The book A Little SPOT of Creativity introduces the creativity SPOT which has a matching mini plushie. This yellow mini creativity plushie spot is wearing a berret and holding a paint pallet. It has the word creativity written on the back. Currently, I can only find the mini creativity plush on the Diane Alber website and is does not appear to be included in any bundle or book sets.
The purple mini learning SPOT covered with letters comes with the Little SPOT Reading Buddies book set. This set is particularly nice as it also contains mini dolls of the children who feature in every book. I this decorated learning plush it is the most difficult mini to find outside of the US and it is not widely available on Amazon.
One last plushie to mention is the celebration spot which is available in the celebration book and plush set. This is a 5 inch plush and not a mini but is worth mentioning as it makes a nice birthday gift and like the other plushies it is a great tactile tool for the SEL classroom.
